When old-school craftsmanship meets new-fangled te When old-school craftsmanship meets new-fangled tech! This is a hand-marbled paper made with traditional hand-mulled watercolor paints. I printed it with a UV printer on a paper mache box lid with an AI-generated texture (based on the color depth of the design). The texture of the end print is incredible.

I can't wait to get back in the studio to play around with this more. I want to see if I can generate a depth map that has the dark areas raised and the light areas at the base.

We've got a new addition to our studio's maker fam We've got a new addition to our studio's maker family: the @xTool M2. This one can print and laser cut, which is pretty cool. I actually picked this one up because I thought my art studio guests would find it relatable and useful, but I've come up with some cool projects to show it off.

The first was to print and cut cardstock decorations for my niece's grad party centerpieces. I shared those a week or so ago. The second was to print designs on cloth for an upcoming Pride craft event. The craft is punch needle, and printing the designs on the fabric is a time saver. Plus, it helps people see exactly what color goes where! The second picture is a sample print of a possible design. It's printed at 60% ink concentration.

I spent a very full Saturday with @karenachristian I spent a very full Saturday with @karenachristians at @lowellmakes reinforcing and enhancing my soldering skills for jewelry. I learned a lot and look forward to practicing those joins! I eventually want to make some metal book covers.

Karen is a great teacher and I appreciate her putting up with my crazy performance anxiety. 🤣

If you have a makerspace near you, definitely check it out for the to tools, the education, and the community.

And Book Fiesta 2026 is in the books! Session 2 br And Book Fiesta 2026 is in the books! Session 2 brought another delightful group of women who felt like family. We had fruity drinks with umbrellas, another birthday (quietly) celebrated, a cheesecake donut (iykyk), the official Book Fiesta playlist, an international guest, explosions of color, and a sea of laughter.

Thanks to the (almost) always delightful @bookartstudios , who brought her trademark joy, support, and creativity. She has become a good friend and I'll miss her until she returns!

Book Fiesta 2026 Session 1 has come to a close and Book Fiesta 2026 Session 1 has come to a close and I'm tired, but grateful. It was a full session with two birthday celebrations, a surprise guest, numerous trips to @theperagrill, some margaritas, painted hands, an ice cream run, and a ton of paper and gesso. I'm so appreciative of @bookartstudios and her generous spirit, as well as the creative brilliance of our attendees. Off to get some sleep before we welcome session 2!

Policies

Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for all participants. While we would rather not have a string of rules, we acknowledge that each person may have a different set of expectations for their personal experiences and think it best to be as clear as possible.

  • Tickets are non-refundable. It may be possible to transfer tickets in the event the original purchaser cannot attend, but we cannot guarantee the opportunity/ability to make transfers.
  • If you get sick, please stay home. We will work with you to try to find an equitable solution.
  • If Indigo Whimsy or the instructor has to cancel, you will be eligible for a full refund.
  • Non-ticketed guests are not allowed in the room during workshops, with the exception of Artist Members with prior approval, and young children. The Tewksbury Library is across the street and there are a number of restaurants in the area for family/friends needing something to do.
  • We ask that you respect age guidelines for workshops. This is for the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of everyone involved. We cannot accommodate younger siblings. Again, the library is nearby and there is plenty of outdoor space to explore and play.
  • Please be on time. Participants arriving exceedingly late may not be admitted if the safety or the experience of other participants may be negatively impacted. Your ticket will not be refunded.
  • We strive to create a nurturing community for all participants. Hate speech and disrespectful language/behavior will not be tolerated.
  • We often take pictures for promotional purposes and may use security cameras on property. By attending a workshop with us, you agree to be captured on camera. While we try to ask before taking pictures, please let the instructor/staff person know if you don’t want marketing pictures taken of you.
  • Safety is a priority at Indigo Whimsy. If you are using tools in an unsafe/inappropriate manner, or we have reasonable concerns about your safety or the safety of others, you may be asked to leave. You will not be refunded. If, due to circumstances beyond your control, you are unable to use the workshop tools safely, we may ask that you return for a different workshop. Please ask PRIOR TO REGISTRATION if you feel you may require special accommodations.
